AI Agent Examples
In an Agentic World, businesses and consumers use AI to finish their grunt work. This will lead to companies hiring fewer employees, but the remaining employees will enjoy their jobs more since the tedious work has been completed by agents.
The first impact of AI agents will be on sales and customer service representatives. These jobs are organized by complexity, For example, a level 1 customer service rep can’t help you then you are transferred to the next rep. This setup makes it easy for companies to set up AI.
As AI agents are released into the world they will take over tasks that are less complex and tedious. As the underlying models get better AI will start to complete more complicated tasks.
Why it matters?
Sales and Customer service are costly and hard roles for companies to consistently fill thus corporations have an incentive to automate these jobs. This will be a major disruption for countries and some US states like Colorado that export customer service agents. Eventually, individuals will assign tasks to their agents and manage them to see if they have done them correctly.
AI Simulation
AI simulation helps us understand our world and how we live our lives. Moreover, these AI simulations will have major implications for the military since this tech can help them by calculating their tactics, which will prevent major casualties.
A year ago, a study was conducted to monitor human behavior in an interactive world. The study discovered AI agents had more believable interactions compared to humans.
AI simulations have started to impact the manufacturing sector by learning how workers use certain machines and their processes. It then provides training to new workers and enhances the current workforce productivity.
Why it matters:
Having the ability to place certain aspects of the real world in a simulation will ultimately lead to better decisions and efficiency. Hopefully, this can prevent silly mistakes that seem obvious in hindsight like what should I get my partner.
Upcoming Trends to watch out for
Rise in Competition amongst Voice to Voice Models: Hume AI and Kyutai Labs have released their models while Anthropic is working with Amazon to make Alexa smarter.
Prompt Engineering will not go away soon: As the models get smarter they will still need clever prompts to get the most out of the model.
