News

Last week Pika AI released their new model Pika 1.5 with mind-blowing AI special effects such as cake-ify which turns the characters into a slice of cake. It has improved its image to video models by making the videos seem more realistic, especially regarding physics. This was a major concern when Sora was introduced.

Many companies are using these models to build AI content that has surreal physics in their videos with explosions. They are using it to enhance their cinematography with the crane effect and bullet train feature.

Why it matters?

This shows how special effects could be done with AI thus saving thousands of dollars for studios. This also helps social media creators to make AI-generated videos rather than hire a video editor to create certain special effects.

Movie Gen Introduced

M eta Introducing Movie Gen

Meta has introduced its text-to-video model that competes with Sora, Runway Gen3 Alpha, and Luma Dream Machine. It claims to beat all of them from text interpretation metrics. It also allows users to upload their images to make videos out of their pictures.

They are targeting video editors to use this service by offering editing features. For example, a user can edit pictures and videos by just prompting. Meta hasn’t released this because of the costs and the generation time of the video is too long.

Why it matters:

Meta is in a unique spot since they have distribution and powerful models. Making them a major threat where AI will play a major role. They are planning to use this in Instagram thus making it easier to edit and create reels or posts.

Upcoming Trends to watch out for
