AI Application in Video games
Jam & Tea Studios is using AI to advance the interactions between players and NPCs. In their game Retail Mage players can interact with NPCs in open-ended ways such as players can type their responses for diverse sets of responses. Another feature they have added is to generate objects and scenarios on the fly as the player advances through the game. Hopefully, I can generate a flamethrower in GTA 6.
Why it matters?
No longer games shall have NPCs with repetitive preset dialogues. As generative AI makes its way to video games it will constantly generate new features, tools, and game levels for players. This will prevent games from becoming redundant.
Spotter: AI Application for generating video ideas
Spotter launched a tool that helps creators generate video ideas and thumbnails. It also helps users analyze their videos, which allows them to better understand their users. The tool has an all-in-one planner feature that helps users organize and track their work.
Why it matters:
Anyone who desired to start a youtube channel knows that the grunt work of finding ideas and creating thumbnails are laborious. This will reduce creators time and effort on tedious tasks allowing them to focus on fun tasks such as creating videos. This underscores a trend that AI will automate majority of the tasks we hate and allow us do things we enjoy.
Autonomous AI Agent Civilizations
Altera released Project Sid: the first simulation with 1000+ autonomous agents collaborating in a virtual world. In a Minecraft server, these agents have been building their economy, culture, religion, and government.
Why it matters:
Creating simulations will allow businesses, government, or even families to test their decisions before implementation. This will prevent many errors that will seem obvious in hindsight. Moreover, if we aren’t living in a simulation we are very close to creating one.
